Smart Growth America and How They are Transforming our Town:
The Waxhaw Board of Commissioners adopted a development plan created by Smart Growth America. Smart Growth America is a 501-(c)(3) that is funded by organizations such as The Rockefeller Foundation and follows a housing and development model closely aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The Rockefeller Foundation along with the United Nations have decided the type of neighborhoods and infrastructure that should exist in our communities. They advocate for high-density housing, more public transportation, but disincentivize private vehicle use, while simultaneously pushing their agenda to local governments through Smart Growth America.
Both Smart Growth America and the United Nations use terms like “Sustainable” Development and “Smart Growth,” in an effort to garner support for their projects, as both terms sound reasonable. However, the plans behind the words are not necessarily “Smart” or “Sustainable.”
Smart Growth America doesn’t hide the fact that their plans for our community are grounded in their specific priorities, not those of the citizens of Waxhaw, which simply include improving infrastructure without the burden of high-density housing and mixed-use developments.
I do not believe we should allow national and international forces, with priorities of their own, to guide zoning and development decisions which negatively impact the Town of Waxhaw and its residents.
I invite you to explore the agenda of Smart Growth America and the organizations financing them.

This alignment with the UN Agenda 2030 needs to be pinned to the top and with that title.
