Robert has been an engineer for over 26 years, moving new technologies through the government regulated world of medical devices, solving a multitude of problems along the way. His education and background are rooted in problem solving and bringing people together to unite for a common goal. Robert proudly raised 3 of his own children and has had the pleasure of helping to raise two more with his loving wife of 6 years. Robert moved his family to Waxhaw from California in search of a better life, with like-minded people and a small town feel with less government overreach.
Robert was born in Northern California, raised by a modest middle-class family where his father worked for the state utility and his mother worked at a department store. After high school he spent some time in a junior college before heading to California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo CA, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
After college he started a long career creating new medical device technologies that have helped many people all over the world. While working and raising 3 kids as a single dad, he volunteered as a Cub Master for the Boy Scouts of America while his sons were young. As the kids got older, he began teaching at the local Junior College, introducing young minds to the wonderful world of engineering. Over a 26-year career he received several awards for quality and innovation, including 22 US patents for new and unique designs before he made the move to a young company in Charlotte.
While Robert didn’t grow up here, he has been able to learn a few things about the local government of Waxhaw that appear a little too similar to the mess he left behind in California. Our small-town government is determined to push forward new expansions of the government without regard to the wishes of the people of Waxhaw or the potential tax increases. Town governance has become town development.
Robert wants to preserve the charm and character that we all fell in love with and he’s willing to fight to protect it. He still supports the idea of new construction and development, provided it adds to the character and charm of Waxhaw, and does not burden the people with new taxes, worsening traffic and overburdened infrastructure. Our town government has stopped listening to the people and have not been as transparent as they claim to be. With all the tactics and traditions of big city government our Town Government has begun to serve themselves and not the people. Robert wants to serve you and your needs. He wants to serve your family, your neighbors, your retired parents, your school children and everyone who calls the Town of Waxhaw home. Please support Robert in his run for Mayor of the Town of Waxhaw. Help protect our future.
